December 16, 1971, holds a significant place in Indian history because it marked the day a new nation emerged on the world map. It was on this day that the Indian Army defeated the Pakistani Army, forcing 13,000 Pakistani soldiers, along with their Army Chief, General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi, to surrender.

“Vijay” was the code name for an operation launched by the Indian Army, aimed at liberating the Bengali community of East Pakistan from the atrocities committed by the West Pakistani Army and helping establish East Pakistan, or Bangladesh.

During the war, numerous encounters took place between the Indian Army and the Pakistani Army. At the end of the war, East Pakistan, or Bangladesh, was established after victory with Indian support.

On this day, the Pakistani Army surrendered to the combined Indo-Bangladesh army, known as the “Mukti Bahini.” Bangladesh came into existence after this surrender.

History of Vijay Diwas:

Vijay Diwas, celebrated as a result of victory in the 1971 war, began with Pakistan’s airstrike on 11 Indian Air Force stations on December 3, 1971.

The 1971 war was a military conflict between India and Pakistan. India was asked for assistance in this war, resulting in the Indian Army agreeing to support Bengali nationalist groups in Bangladesh’s independence struggle in East Pakistan.

The contributions made by India’s great leaders, Indira Gandhi, Manek Shaw, and General Jagjit Singh, who changed world history and political geography, will always be remembered in the history of India and Bangladesh. Whenever Bangladesh celebrates its Independence Day, it will remember these great leaders by name.

Significance of Vijay Diwas:

December 16, Vijay Diwas, holds a golden significance in Indian history and is of utmost importance to every citizen of India. On this day, the fearlessness, courage, enthusiasm, and strength of our armed forces are celebrated.

The significance of this day still resides in the hearts of the common people. The sacrifices made by the brave soldiers in the 1971 war against Pakistan are remembered with tearful eyes on this day.

This day immortalizes the story of every brave warrior of the Indian Army and awakens the love for the country in the hearts of the citizens.

Its objective is to contribute to the awareness of people about their health and the importance of education in life. In the field of health, the organization has organized several health camps and blood donation camps.

The organization has organized various programs to encourage children in the field of education, such as organizing painting competitions and providing information about digital literacy to children, etc. We have also tried to educate children about the great men of the country through our articles and camps.

SK Vision organized a special event on December 16th with a group of children on the occasion of Vijay Diwas. This event was held among the special children in Mayur Vihar-1, Delhi. Despite being hearing and speaking impaired, these children were full of positivity and embraced all aspects of life with open hearts.

On this occasion, the organization organized a painting competition to educate the children on the significance of Vijay Diwas. They were given the opportunity to showcase their paintings on the theme of the country or patriotism, highlighting the contributions of heroes in the war.

The organization provided colors and sheets to all the students participating in the painting competition. After completing their work, although all the children performed very well, the best paintings were selected for prizes.

At the end of the competition, the organization presented prizes to the children. Some of these prizes were also presented by the school principal. The children received geometry boxes, colors, and notebooks as prizes.

Finally, food and drinks were distributed among the children and all members of the school, concluding the event.
