In our past, there was a huge difference between girls\u2019 education and boys\u2019 education. Girls have to face many hindrances to get education.<br>Now the Govt. is taking many steps to improve girls\u2019 education. They are trying to educate, empower and uplift girls by providing different sources and launching different schemes .<br>Here we are going to discuss different schemes which are launched by the govt to provide a path for girls to get their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>National scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Beti Bachao Beti Padhao<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Indian government unveiled the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myscheme.gov.in\/schemes\/bbbp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Beti Bachao Beti Badhao<\/a>\u00a0project in 2015. This initiative\u2019s primary goal is to raise public awareness of the importance of girls\u2019 education. Together, relevant departments and ministries, the State Government, and UTs carry it out.<br>It is implemented through a three-tier structure \u2013 District, State, and National level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Government\u00a0schemes\u00a0and Programs Supporting Girls\u2019 Education in India helps to promote the education and health of the female child. So that they can contribute to societies\u2019 development and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.skvision.org\/blog\/breaking-down-barriers-to-girls-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">break down the barriers to girls\u2019 education.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Development till date:-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>According to the SRB Index, the growth of the scheme is like this \u2013 it\u2019s 918 from 2014-2015, and 934 from 2019 \u2013 2020. Growth of 16 points in five years. Growth of 16 points seen in five years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 4 years, from 2014 \u2013 2015 to 2018 \u2013 2019, there are 422 districts covered out of 640 districts under BP in Sex Ratio Birth ( SRB).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The NGER ( National Growth Enrolment Ratio) of girls has also been improving in the last few years. Girls\u2019 performance in secondary schools increased by 3.87 points, from 77.45 in 2014\u20132015 to 81.32 in 2018\u20132019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ANC (Antenatal Register) rate grew from 61% in 2014\u201315 to 71% in 2019\u20132020.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The number of schools with separate and functional toilets has been increased from 92.1% in 2014-2015 to 95.1% in 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsiindia.gov.in\/(S(s1kbyn55f0wprt2uuu5wxd55))\/InternalPage.aspx?Id_Pk=89\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This scheme<\/a>\u00a0was initiated in 2015, by the Govt. to give financial aid to girls\u2019 education. It is a small deposit scheme, which allows parents to open a saving account with a high interest rate of 7.6%.<br>There are some points mentioned by the govt for the opening of the Account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The minimum and maximum deposits allowed in a financial year are Rs 250 and Rs 1.5 lakh respectively.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The girl must be younger than ten years old and have an account opened in her name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only one account can be opened in the name of a girl child.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The account can be opened at the post office and by authorized banks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>According to the policy, the money can be withdrawn or closed anytime after the female child becomes 18 years old for her education or marriage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The account can be transferred anywhere in India from one branch to another.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In accordance with Income Tax Act section 80c, this plan also offers tax advantages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the age of 18 years the girl can manage her account herself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Balika Samridhi Yojana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The girl child who comes from low-income families can participate in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/megsocialwelfare.gov.in\/icds_balika.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Balika Samridhi Yojna<\/a>. If they fulfils all the criteria , they will get the benefit of the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>October 2, 1997, was the launch date of this initiative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are some details related to the yojana.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To open the account , the girl must be born on or after 15th Aug 1997.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She must belong to BPL family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She Must be enrolled in school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This scheme provides financial assistance to the family for a minimum of 2 girls in the family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scheme gives Rs500 on the birth of the child and Rs 300 to Rs 500 as annual scholarships from class 1st to 10th.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Till last data the coverage of beneficiaries is 12357 girl child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CBSE Udaan Scheme<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.india.gov.in\/spotlight\/udaan-program-give-wings-girl-students\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.india.gov.in\/spotlight\/udaan-program-give-wings-girl-students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CBSE Udaan Scheme<\/a>\u00a0is one of the best girls\u2019 schemes, which is administered by the Ministry of Education. This scholarship program is launched by the Central Board of Secondary Education to the meritorious female students who belong to economically vulnerable families in India and help them achieve their dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This scheme is for students of class 11th and 12th from CBSE affiliated schools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This scheme provides online tutorials ,study materials and video lectures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It provides student helpline services to clear doubts of the students , monitor their learning .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intensive face-to face session for the focused group of students to help them in preparation of JEE advance and JEE ( Mains).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assessment is designed to provide effective feedback on learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organisations also provide motivation classes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>virtual designated contact classes at 60 designated centers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>There are some criteria for this scheme :-<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The girl should be an Indian citizen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The students must be from a science background which includes \u2013 Math , Physics and chemistry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The girl should obtain 70% marks in class 10 and 80 % marks in maths and science through the board which follows CGPA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The family income should be below 6 lack per anum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any girl studying in KV\/ Govt school \/ NV\/ or any CBSE affiliated private schools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The selection of the students will be completely based on merit and depends on the city chosen by the the students for the virtual classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>State Government schemes for Girl Child<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DELHI LAADLI SCHEME<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First launched on January 1st, 2008,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myscheme.gov.in\/schemes\/dls#benefits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this program<\/a>. The Delhi NCT Government\u2019s Department of Women and Children introduced it. To empower the girls who are born in Delhi, this scheme was launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Objectives are :-<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To empower the female child socially &amp; economically .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To improve the sex ration and control the female forticied.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This also helps to improve education among girls and reduce the drop out- rate of girl students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits :-<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It provides financial assistance of Rs 11,000 if the girl child is born in a hospital and 10,000 if born at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Girl children get Rs 5000 at the time of admission into class 1st\/ 6th \/ 9th.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It also provides Rs 5000 at the time of passing 10th and 12th.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mukhyamantri Kanya Suraksha Yojana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wcdc.bihar.gov.in\/MKSYDetails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This scheme<\/a>\u00a0was launched by Bihar Government. This scheme was launched by the Govt to inspire the girls toward education and give them financial help from their birth till they get their graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objective of the scheme :-<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For girls who graduated after 2018, it provides financial aid of Rs. 25,000.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It provides financial assistance of Rs 2000 at the time of the girl kid\u2019s birth and Rs 5000 when the girl child reaches adulthood after 20 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rs 1000 for the initial immunization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rs 600 for admission in class 1st .( For uniform)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rs 700 between classes 3rd to 5th .( For uniform)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Between the sixth and eighth standard, Rs 1000, and between the ninth and twelfth, Rs 1500.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It offers 10,000 at graduation and 25,000 upon completion of the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maharashtra Manjhi kanya Bhagyashree Scheme<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/govtschemes.in\/maharashtra-manjhi-kanya-bhagyashree-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This scheme<\/a>\u00a0was launched in 1st August 2017 by the WCD Department. In order to change the mindset of society towards girls children, Maharashtra Govt launched the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits :-<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This scheme provides Rs 50,000 for a single girl child and for two girls children 25,000 each in the name of both girls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The family can withdraw the interest amount every 6 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion \u2013<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this type of scheme govt can change the societies attitude toward girls education.
